The Lord Nelson public house in Burnham Thorpe, the village of Nelson’s birth,  has recently changed hands.

The new owners, ‘The Ebrington Collection’ are keen supporters of Nelson’s legacy and are keen to preserve the incredible history of Lord Nelson.

The Nelson Society is working closely with the Ebrington Collection to achieve that goal.

The Lord Nelson was known as The Plough in Nelson’s time, being renamed The Lord Nelson in 1807. It was here that Nelson gave a farewell dinner for the villagers in 1793 before joining his ship, HMS Agamemnon, having been recalled to sea in anticipation of renewed hostilities with France.
