The Battle of Copenhagen Commemorative Event

The Nelson Society will be commemorating the Battle of Copenhagen and Nelson’s visit to Worcester in 1802 at a three day event in September. This will be the Society’s first ‘face to face’ meeting since the outbreak of the pandemic. There are still places available if you wish to book.
The Copenhagen dinner will take place on Sunday 19th September with a talk by guest speaker Gareth Glover, a retired naval officer and author, on ‘The Two Battles of Copenhagen 1801 and 1807’. Monday is taken up with a guided tour of Worcester and a discussion session on Nelson’s legacy and his relevance today. Gareth is again speaking after the Monday dinner on ‘The War in the Mediterranean 1793-1815 and the Birth of Real Combined operations’.
On Tuesday an auction of Nelson memorabilia will take place followed by a talk on the Nelson collection in the Worcester Museum.
