To commemorate Nelson’s first great victory in 1797 off Portugal’s Cape St Vincent, The Nelson Society is returning to The Union Jack Club (close to Waterloo Station) for this always popular fixture.

The lecture is ‘“Nelson and his Band of Brothers:  Friendship, Freemasonry, Fraternity”, by Martyn Downer, the leading specialist in the identification and sale of historic artefacts, especially relating to Nelson. A former Director and Head of Jewellery at Sotheby’s, his books include the bestselling Nelson’s Purse, the story of his discovery of a remarkable trove of lost treasures belonging to Admiral Nelson.

The Union Jack Club is a private members club for members of Her Majesty’s Armed Forces. Just one minute’s walk from exit 2 of Waterloo Station, it is easily accessible from all parts of the UK.
